IBM PureSystems is the latest product in the IBM Systems group. Numerous IBM hardware and software solutions are integrated within this one product. The difference between this product and similar competitive products is that, instead of offering integration of separate products in one entity, this solution has been designed from the start with the view of the clients’ integration needs and requirements. Integration of all the components during the design enabled significant reduction of the clients’ capital and operational costs. On top of the modular hard top (Flex System) for the integration of hardware components, the heart of the system is Flex System Manager (FSM) that represents central component for system management. FSM includes patterns for system configuration and installation in order for the configuration to correspond to the producer’s best practice with the minimum of the clients’ effort.
